Adaptive Leadership in Uncertain Times

Useful information

About the Forum

There is no doubt that the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years have been one of the most challenging that African leaders have had to deal with. Leaders were forced to make tough decisions ‘on the fly’, and adapt to new complexities, while at the same time attending to their loved ones, and their employees, as they keep their organizations stable and afloat. The lessons learned from the period of the COVID-19 pandemic have reshaped many aspects of leadership and are greatly relevant as we attempt to steadily forge a return to normalcy.

New normal

Life after the pandemic

The ability of African leaders to deal with unprecedented changes, new realities, and uncertainties has never been more crucial as new challenges will continue to arise as we look into the future. The Africa Impact Forum 2023, therefore, comes at an opportune moment for ALI fellows to reconnect, take stock, and re-clarify their post-pandemic collective action as African leaders.

Previous Forums

The last two Impact Forums have demonstrated the value of providing Fellows and African leaders with an avenue to discuss common challenges in an informal setting. The AIF 2023, therefore, seeks to build on the same, but this time, focus on maximizing Fellows’ impact through their professional work, targeted ventures, or thought leadership.
